My Casual 'Coffee Date' Jewelry Picks
, New York, NY

So, I met a guy at an ice cream shop. He was ordering chocolate-chip ice cream which I thought was kind of endearing, and I don’t even know why. (I got strawberry for those who find themselves wildly curious.) He has sandy-brown hair and one of those winning smiles that makes me feel happy.
I’ve decided on a low-key outfit for our coffee date (arranged over a series of flirty IMs convos over the past two days), which involves some khaki shorts and a floaty white boatneck camisole. I want to polish the look off with jewelry, but I want it to fit the casual and natural tone.
You know what would be perfect for my not-a-date? Turquoise jewelry. Problem is, I don’t really have any. I’m trying to fix that, though.
I like the Betsey Johnson ‘Girlie Charms’ Drop Earrings ($35.00) from Nordstrom because they’re cheap, youthful, and pretty. While at Nordstrom I found this Badgley Mischa Angela watch that would be too much for this outfit, but is so truly unusual and visually interesting that I want to share the picture. I’d like to rock that, sometime!
Some other earrings that are simple but not too-simple are the Devon Leigh Turquoise Ellipse Earrings ($320.00) from Neiman Marcus. If I get these, I think I’ll pull my hair back and up with some pieces very carefully arranged to look windblown around my face.
Back to simple, and with a price reduction, I like the Washed Ashore Earrings ($28.00) from Anthropologie. These Infinity Circle Hoops are on sale, though. I like them both. I would even totally buy them both, but I’ve already decided to also buy the gorgeous At-First-Blush ring.
Much love,
Sofia
