Pratt Institute fashion graduate Jessie Sodetz will present her 2017 thesis collection during New York Fashion Week at RALPH PUCCI in Manhattan. Her 10-piece collection will be displayed on mannequins creating a still-life runway in the RALPH PUCCI Penthouse gallery with the designer in attendance presenting her work.
This yearโs event marks the third-annual RALPH PUCCI New York Fashion Week exhibition in collaboration with Pratt. The showcase seeks to highlight the work of the next generation of up-and-coming artists.
Sodetzโs collection, which was presented at Prattโs 2017 runway show in May, caught the eye of Ralph Pucci, Pratt Institute Trustee and head of RALPH PUCCI.
โWhen I saw the prints, colors and fabrics of Jessieโs collection I immediately thought what a fantastic collection. Itโs modern, wearable and feminine but with masculine touchesโperfect for a Pucci mannequin,โ said Pucci.
The inspiration for Sodetzโs collection came from a personal reflection into areas of the designerโs personality, heritage, and spirituality. The collection, which features several menswear-inspired looks, highlights Sodetzโs artistic talent through hand-illustrated prints and a unique take on hand quilting.

The event will showcase a group of high-end and emerging fashion designer collections during New York Fashion Week. The show is scheduled for Saturday, September 9, 2017, at 6 PM in Manhattan. (Location To Be Announced.)
ย โThe event serves as a platform presenting a group of high-end and emerging fashion designers to buyers, editors, and press.
The event was created to promote awareness of these designers and help them gain exposure,โ says Belinda Antwi, Fashion Institute of Technology Alumna, and CEO and Founder of Design Collective NY, Inc.
โThe event also offers buyers, editors and press access to new and innovative brands, and sponsors gainย heightened visibilityย within the fashion industry and beyond.โ
The event was first introduced in 2002 at the Hudson Hotel in Manhattan and presented a group of five designers from the US, Europe, and South America.
Subsequent shows have also included fashion and accessories designers from around the globe to standing-room-only attendees. โDesign Collective New Yorkโ aims to continue to scout and present new, young and innovative brands to buyers, editors, press and the public.
