Wrapped Up in Decadent Scarves
, New York, NY
Scarves are functioning as a fashion statement these days, but winter in New York City is cold! So, don’t forget to stock up on some scarves that can also keep you warm, while stylish. I picked out some of my current favorite scarf selections for TheVogueCity.com readers, and they’re posted below. I love to have a variety of scarves for each season (and I always hold onto my favorites from previous years if they are in good shape).
This means that I’ll have different styles to mix my look around a bit. I’ll have some patterned scarves to wear with coats that are one color, and plain colored scarves with little embellishments to wear with more ‘complicated’ coats. The mark of a good scarf is one that can hold up under winter weather (no fraying or fading, please) and it gets bonus points if it can look good with a casual jean outfit or a bit more of a dressed-up look.
Find a place to hang all of your your scarves so that they working double time as decorative object d’art in your apartment when they’re not on you. I’m always happy when organization collides with beautification.
