When Phillip Lim is out of reach

After much anticipation and enough twittering I last Thursday I went to the Phillip Lim show. The night started with disappointment when I realized that I didn’t purchase tickets to THE show but rather to an Amex event that featured Phillip Lim. What is the difference? Well, the so loved/hated celebrities. Not to mention the models. that looked really tired, one ended up collapsing at the end, and I don’t think it was her Louboutins. But going back to the show itself, it was simple, yet brilliant. If you are not familiar with Phillip Lim’s work, you should. “Everyone says to back off aesthetically,” said Phillip Lim, days before his show. “But that’s not what’s selling.” I agree with him, what sells is glamour that you can integrate in your less than glamorous life.
