Told You So: iPhone Drops in Price

What did I tell you? Didn’t I tell you not to by the $600 8GB iPhone? Didn’t I say it would come down in price? Didn’t I? And you didn’t listen. Boohoo for you. Now Apple is phasing out the 4GB version that it was selling for $399, and dropping the price of the 8GB to $399. Well, as I live and breathe. Feeling kind of silly now, aren’t you? Well, you’re in luck–Steve Jobs has a heart and brain after all, and will give you a $200 refund or $100 in store credit if you hightail it over to Apple within the next 14 days. You can return the 4GB version for a full refund. (I think I would take the refund.)

For all of you who waited, like I said, kudos to you for being smart. Now you have options. Buy the better iPhone for less, or buy something else, like the new iPod Touch. I don’t necessarily think the iPod touch is that great. It’s just flashy and nice looking, like the iPhone, but what I really want in an iPod is music storage. It’s a drag to have to sift through my playlist every time I have to delete and add new songs. That’s why I am salivating over the iPod Classic. The lower end model holds up to 20,000 songs and the higher end model holds 40,000 songs. Lord, have mercy. That’s 200 times more songs than on my current iPod nano. That would fit my entire CD collection and all of my iTunes purchases, including songs I have yet to buy. I could fly to Australia and back again without ever having to repeat a song. Sweet. So much cooler than the iPhone, don’t you think?

TTYL,

Roxie
