The Skin Problem We Don't Want to Talk About
, New York, NY

It’s a nasty secret that no one wants to discuss: dry skin patches. Occurring in places where our skin is the most fragile and thin, your knees, ankles, and elbows are all prone to this. It’s like there are invisible targets painted there. So, it’s defense time.
How do you cope? Skin therapy is basic and it’s based in your methods and the quality of the products you choose to use. Whoa, does that sound like a lot of stress and responsibility for you? Don’t freak out. It’s not that hard. You start with washing your skin to get off the grime of the day and night (our air is polluted, we can’t deny this). Ever bother to stop and wonder why we don’t use just any kind of soap? It’s not just because of the cute packaging, or a sweet scent. Yep. Shocker. Some soaps, like dish soap, are a lot harsher than others (ergo, the dreaded ‘dish hands’). So – use gentle soaps from reputable companies.
Pat your skin dry, and right after washing – when your skin will absorb moisture better, use lotion. Again, use good lotion. You can spend a few bucks on a lotion that doesn’t work, or you can invest in something that will really work. It’s up to you.
