There are countless ways that us New Yorkers celebrate the glorious mid-summer long weekend (yes!) in which we commemorate our independence: The Fourth of July. Like most of you, I will likely be honoring this Great American Holiday at a busy beach and at a tasty barbeque, but as an early commencement to the Fourth of July weekend, I suggest you come to the Shoe Box Sample Sale. 1. No Pain
I often read the words “sample sale” and cringe. (Don’t get me wrong—the cringe comes after an initial surge of excitement and an occasional shriek of “wahoo!”) Sometimes you have to submit to the motto “No Pain, No Gain” to find a great bargain. In fact, I’m sure many of you have mastered the art of sorting through shoes, sifting through racks, and pushing (politely, of course!) through the masses in the sweltering heat of show rooms. That being said, I can gladly report to you that my experience at the Shoe Box Sample Sale was pain-free. At 2151 Broadway (75th Street), with the sale having been in progress for over two weeks, the selection of beautiful shoes was still meticulously organized– And most importantly, they still had many sizes and styles in stock!

2. Spice Up Your Wardrobe
It’s about that point in summer where you’re beginning to get sick of that high-waisted skirt and those bold-colored dresses you splurged on this season. No fear! An easy way to spruce up your wardrobe (you’ve guessed it!) is to tie some new shoes into the mix. I loved Cynthia Vincent’s Laurie Peep-toe Flats (left), and Beverly Feldman’s Tessa T-Strap Sandal (right) (Both on sale from $235 to $164).

3. If The Shoe Fits…
Don’t get me wrong, I commend frugality… but in this case, there’s no need to. Consider a trip to the Shoe Box Sample Sale an investment. The selection is so great that you can steer clear from those gladiator sandals (that we all love) and go for a more classic look. Plus, you don’t have to count those calories—shoes always fit!
