The Cupid Bow Lips of Anja Rubik Oust Angelina Jolie's Large Pout

Back in the 1920’s, the “IT girl” Clara Bow was famous for her Cupid’s Bow lips.While we’ve long coveted that Angelina Jolie pout, the tides may be changing. Model Anja Rubik (and one of the three current faces for Chloe parfum) has a wonderfully defined cupid’s bow. (But makeup doesn’t hurt to enhance it.)

The key for a cupid’s bow to be enhanced doesn’t involve surgery (unless you really want to.)  You’ll want a good lip liner in whatever shade of lipstick you’ll be wearing, that’s for sure. And by lipstick I do mean lipstick. Matte lipstick would be the best choice, but a little bit of sheerness should be okay. What you want to stay away from is lipgloss. Lipgloss is used to make your lips appear more plump, and it will ultimately distract from the defined effect you’re trying so hard to create. It’s just like not eating carbs all day and then going out to dinner at an Italian restaurant where breadsticks and pasta reign supreme. Hello, WTP? (WTP=What’s the point.)

What is a cupid’s bow? Good question! This phrases it perfectly: “A Cupid’s bow is a facial feature where the double curve of a human upper lip is said to resemble the bow of the Cupid, the Roman god of erotic love.
