Team Blue and Gold is a Winning Combination
, New York, NY
Once upon a time in a world of young fashionistas, no one dared wear gold jewelry. Silver was the standard, and at best white gold was all you’d go for. This was complicated. But over the years those young fashionistas learned that ignoring gold was downright rude. Now they embrace gold baubles and hang them from their ears and necks with the same flourish they’ve always possessed.
In my most recent jewelry post I featured lots of gorgeous gold. What I have realized is that gold jewelry looks amazing with a rich blue color. So now that I’ve squared you away with some lovely jewels, it’s time to shop for clothes. There are comfy sweaters, silk dresses, and of course – blue jeans.
I was stuck with the idea of this color combo when I saw a picture of Jenny Lewis of Rilo Kiley fame) in a blue silk dress with a large gold medallion strung on a chain that hung from her neck. In the instant I saw the image I was like: perfection!
