WHAT: J.Crew + Boots Up Fall Styling & Shopping Event

WHY: Ahead of Veteran’s Day on November 11th, a handful of J.Crew‘s brick and mortar stores in New York and New Jersey are partnering with Boots Up to donate proceeds to help military men and women transition back to civilian life.

Through November 4th, shoppers will receive a 10% discount on their total purchase (stacked on top of other promotions and coupons) by simply mentioning Boots Up at the checkout, and 10% of all proceeds will be donated to Boots Up.

The four participating locations include:

Tice’s Corner 387 Chestnut Ridge Rd. Woodcliff Lake, NJ
The Mall at Shorthills 1200 Morris Turnpike Short Hills, NJ
Brookfield Place 250 Vesey St. New York, NY
Princeton 1 Palmer Square Princeton, NJ

Additionally, this Friday, J.Crew will be hosting a Fall Styling and Shopping Event from 3pm-7pm where vets will receive extra gifts with their purchase and shoppers can enjoy refreshments during those hours.

This is significant because veterans often encounter a lot of challenges transitioning back into normal life, including:

44% of veterans who served in the ten years since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks have had a hard time readjusting to civilian life
In the post 9/11 era, one in ten veterans suffered a serious injury
Nearly half have suffered from PTSD
Male veterans make up 33% of the homeless population nationwide

Boots Up aims to solve this by bridging the gap between transitioning veterans and the companies, educational institutions, and people who want to help them succeed.
