WHY: The Shop at The Standard, High Line is excited to invite you to celebrate the release of artist Joseph Ari Aloi aka JK5‘s one of a kind, hand-etched scratchboards. Thirteen special edition copies were made exclusively for The Standard Shop and will be revealed and available at the opening event, Thursday April 23rd between 6-8pm.

Multidisciplinary artist JK5, known for his inventive styles, approaches, unique letterforms and script has been a distinct and deeply respected tattoo artist for the last 20 years. JK5’s hand-etched scratchboards are the evolved, packaged and kids craft media version of the grammar school and 1970’s camp scratchboard. In lieu of his recent collaboration with Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons, JK5 will be hand customizing Comme des Garçon wallets upon request and will customize The Shop’s window. His book will also be available for sale in store.
