We’ve already shared part one of our series on iconic handbags and what they say about their owners. Below you’ll find the second installment of the series. Stay tuned for the third and final portion, to be published in the coming days.
About the Bag: The Lady Dior bag is easily one of the most recognizable handbags in the world not just for its stand-out style, but because it was carried Princess Diana herself. In fact, it was Princess Diana who catapulted the bag (hers was a black leather with luxe stitching) into fame. As a thank you, Dior renamed the bag after Diana and since then it’s been considered one of the most iconic handbags produced by the fashion house.
Celebs Who Carry It: Mischa Barton, Olsen Twins, Blake Lively
What it Says About You: More petite than some, the Lady Dior bag packs a lot of style prowess within its tiny frame. The same can be said of its wearer. Women who choose the Lady Dior bag are often girly and sweet, but not sickeningly so. This perfect combination of feminine and strong makes for an approachable, friendly woman who’s proud of her accomplishments.
About the Bag: At only seven years old, the Chloe Paddington has already made quite a name for itself. Its considered a must-own bag for anyone who knows anything about bags and blends seamlessly into myriad wardrobes. From boho princesses to Western-inspired femmes to biker chic chicks, the Chloe Paddington is a hard-to-find bag adored by a wide spectrum of women.
Celebs Who Carry It: Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, Kate Bosworth, Jessica Simpson
What it Says About You: Anyone who chooses the Chloe Paddington clearly has her nose in fashion magazines on a regular basis. Still, she’s often down to earth and carefree with an easy sense of style. Chloe Paddington owners aren’t afraid of a pair of jeans and are known for their pragmatic tendencies and genial dispositions.
About the Bag: The compact Chanel 2.55 may be small in size, but it’s big in the style world. It was designed by fashion darling Coco Chanel in 1955 and features a slick, quilted leather exterior and chain for hands-free carrying. Even though the bag is nearly 60 years old, it’s never gone out of style and that’s unlikely to change anytime soon.
Celebs Who Carry It: Lauren Conrad, Katy Perry, Jessica Biel, Nicole Richie
What it Says About You: The bag itself is timeless and fuss-free, but never blends in with the crowd. Women who choose the Chanel 2.55 are likely multi-taskers who are always on the run, but want to make sure they look good tending to their errands. They also value function just as much as style and appreciate that this bag goes from the office to the grocery to a formal event with ease.

The spring and summer runways were rich with intoxicating prints, bold silhouettes and enough sex appeal to last for a decade. As you plan your upcoming warm-month ensembles, consider incorporating one or two (if not all) of the following trends into your wardrobe.
Iridescent Fabrics
If you really want to stand out in a crowd, partake in the iridescent fabric trend. This fresh new fabric choice is sure to turn heads and it certainly did so on the runway. Designers such as Jonathan Saunders, Christian Dior and Diane von Furstenberg all showcased this unusual fabric on the catwalk. When styling, pair iridescent fabrics with a neutral colors and minimal accessories to ground the look. Pictured here is a dress designed by Jonathan Saunders.

Peekaboo Skin
From tiny shoulder cutouts to ultra sheer fabrics, peekaboo skin is one of the hottest 2013 spring and summer fashion trends. Many designers have created looks that fuse conservative silhouettes with the element of “peekaboo” surprise, so don’t worry about looking too scandalous. Jason Wu‘s leather dress pictured here shows off the midriff, but is still chic and refined.

Flats
This spring and summer, leave your highest heels in the closet and give your feet a break. Catwalk models sported flat shoe after flat shoe, including models belonging to Carolina Herrera, Marc Jacobs and Tory Burch. Tennis shoes, loafers, pointy-toed dress flats, streamlined sandals — even flip flops — are all on trend. Check out the flat boots designed by Victoria Beckham (queen of heels, mind you) and notice the peekaboo panel on the front of this white dress. White is also on trend for SS2013.

Pencil Skirts
Nearly every single designer showcased at least once pencil skirt on the runway, including Oscar de la Renta, Prada and Alexander McQueen. Some were crafted out of boisterous floral prints, others neutral and resigned while others yet in loud colors. Pair pencil skirts with a bomber jacket or white blouse. Both are also on trend for spring/summer 2013. The pencil skirts pictured here were designed by Roland Mouret.

Neon
Embrace color with this flashy spring and summer 2013 fashion trend: neon. Whether you’re partial to lemony yellow, punchy pink or radioactive green, now is the time to buy and wear flashy neon garments and accessories. Designers such as Simone Rocha, Osman and House of Holland participated in this color trend. Pictured here is an all-pink ensemble crafted by Oscar de la Renta.

If you were looking for bells and whistles for St. Barth's New Year's Eve, this isn't your year.

What’s pink and white and jeweled all over? Christian Dior Resort 2010 (below, center). And we likie. While some designers thought the recession memo applied to Resort (um, it doesn’t) and draped their models in drab resort wear that hardly resembles happy vaca attire, Mr. Dior, and a few others, stuck to the classic resort brights. Because if we wanted to wear black, grey and various shades of brown, we would stay in the city thankyouverymuch.

Dior took a bite from Hillary Clinton’s pant suits and decorated his models with blazers and loose fitting trousers. Blousy silks and pink taffeta made cameos in both Dior and Armani resort collections with the latter lowering the hemlines. Loose-fitting formality ran rampant in even the subtler collections, and for the more conservative resort designers, pieces that could transcend St. Tropez prevailed. Even Pucci steared clear of his signature wild on print and opted for an alternative in varying blue hues. Celine, Sonia Rykiel, Just Cavalli, Chloe and more stuck with neutral colors but jumped on the Bermuda shorts and blazers bandwagon.
If you were looking for bells and whistles for St. Barth’s New Year’s Eve, this isn’t your year. Preview Spring 2010 before you buy, and you might just kill two birds with one, er, coconut.
