SWICH Pressed Sandwiches

Since the national debt – and my personal debt- seem to be getting steeper and steeper, I’ve been bringing my lunch to work. It’s a bit of a pain to balance my already overstuffed purse, gym bag, and a shopping bag filled with Tupperware on the moving sardine can they call the R train, but every little bit helps- or so I keep repeating to myself.

Once a week I treat myself though. Since buying lunch has become such a novelty, I decided to venture out of my usual Pret Manger lunch (Slim Pret Organic Chicken with a small Moroccan Lentil Soup and that yummy ‘No Nasties’ soda. The red one).

So I wandered around town until I found my new fave: SWICH! These yummy pressed sandwiches have truly gourmet ingredients with a rather fast food price tag. I am loving the Karate Chicken Swich ($7.95) which offers roast chicken, sliced almonds and carrots drizzled with plum sauce on toasty french bread with Banana Lemonade. YUM!

They also have soups, clever side dishes, sweet potato chips (and BEER, in case your boss is being a royal pain).
