Swearing Off Lip Gloss? Not So Easy!

I keep telling myself how I’m over lip gloss, and that it’s a sticky mess better left to the 1990’s and the early 2000’s. Because now? I’m into sheer balms with a hint of color, or moisturizing lipstick.

So, resolved girl that I am, I open a fashion magazine and there’s a Chanel ad for the new Aqualumiere gloss at Nordstrom. The ad proclaims in a clean, white, font: sheer brilliance, a shiny kiss of transparent color.

And the thing is, if my lips can look as good as the ad – even 50% as good as it, then I need this. NEED. A must-happen. I am not into the pumping/plumping glosses like Duwop Lip Venom – but you’re certainly welcome to use them. (I personally am keeping all ‘venom’ away from my lips after a recent incident where I tried using cayenne pepper inside my nose as a homeopathic remedy for migraines. I want no more pain or trauma!)

I’ll be sticking with good old-fashioned tricks of light to increase the plump-factor of my lips. If you’ve forgotten, what to look for are light, natural, sheer glosses and balms that reflect light (nothing matte or dark). All of this, and no burning sensations! Life is pain, beauty doesn’t have to be. I promise you this.
