Slane Jewelry Samples Sale Review 12/21
The Slane Sample Sale is really straightforward. Fifty percent off their retail prices, on all of their merchandise in the showroom. There are many pieces of silver, pearl, and a limited selection of 18k in bracelets, rings, pendants, and necklaces. Yes, there are some one of a kind, and also pieces that are at retail stores right now. I spotted many bee pieces, column, oval mesh, fenestra, some stacked rings, and items from the woven collection. It seemed that I found almost everything I had ever seen from Slane at the sale. So, if you have had an eye on something Slane, you may find it here. Except, of course, for the one of a kind. There is an incredible one of a kind oval mesh looking turquoise necklace that goes for $4500, post 50%. Personally, I cannot pay that much for silver, no matter how artisan.
The environment is rather formal. They turned some of their office space into a show room. You buzz in. There is someone to accompany each person that comes to the sale, and who will let you try on the jewelry that is mostly encased in glass. There was no one there when I entered at 1 pm, but a few people came trailing in as I was leaving. The sales associate said there was a line this morning.
Overall, if you are a big fan, go. If not, then you can take a look at what they are offering at Bluefly (at 46% off), or Gilt, that is having a sale right now on their items at 50% off (many of the items overlap). There is a chance that there will be an additional 10% off the last day of the sale. Maybe that is more of an incentive to brave the cold? Those that know me know, 50% off, humm, not much incentive at a sample sale!
