Resurrection Vintage

Resurrection Vintage is tucked away on Mott between Prince and Spring Street. The buzzer at the door almost scared me away, but I sucked it up- for you dear readers!- to see if this spot was really worth the hike down there. So I buzzed, apprehensively, and entered the confused little shop.

In the center of the store was a table covered in heavy fashion books, the kind you buy to leave on your coffee table so people think your fancy. Were they there for purchase? To be used as a resource? The world may never know.

The store wasn’t having a “sale”. When they contacted our site, they must have misunderstood our thrifty goal. They simply had items that were “for sale”. A world of difference you see. The garments “for sale” that were special enough to be publicized were Japanese designer garments from the 1990’s.

Most of the racks were filled with Commes Des Garcons. All of which were extremely unusual and would definitely be best left to folks with tons of confidence, and eccentric style. I spotted an interesting dress for $750, Pants at $295, and some funky tank tops for $95.

However, before I ran out to grab some Pinkberry (I know, I know- I have a problem) I spotted some adorable- completely wearable satin dresses. I was told they were the designed by the store owner. Some of these dresses were on the pricey end, but they started at $99, which seemed perfectly reasonable. I was also obsessed with a nylon cropped motorcycle jacket for $198. The verdict? Check this store out. You’re certain to find something unlike anything you’ve seen before.

Side Note: Did you know that Commes Des Garcons collaborated with H&M? I suggest you head over and check it out before it’s all gone. . .
