Piperlime Pop-up Sale

Let's get dressed-but not "for less"

Piperlime Pop-up Store The first thing to know before hitting Piperlime’s Pop-Up Sale is that the word “sale” is a bit of a misdirect. Prices are the same as they are on Piperlime’s online site, which is to say, not terribly cheap: a sequined Nanette Lepore mini is to die for, but also: $398. The pop-up shop, open until October 3, is organized around the theme “Let’s get dressed.” This is a store that wants you to head out to work looking like a red carpet refugee, to go to the bodega looking like you’re ready for a hot date.

To that end, the spacious shop is organized around several trends, each of which is adorably scrawled on a chalkboard. In the Vintage Embellishments
area, a Mink Pink plush cheetah jacket ($108) manages to evoke both the 1950s and 1990s, while a Beyond Vintage ivory sequined batwing blouse ($389) is all
vamp glamor. Another section focuses on picks from Rachel Zoe. Speaking of the stylist, I die over the shoe selection, which includes Honey Hive boots ($198), which come in perfectly on-trend cognac and lace all the way up the back. A pair of Joan & David patent leather camel-hued heels ($200) put a modern spin on the always dreamy Ali McGraw in Love Story 70s co-ed style.

Service is friendly almost to the point of being obsequious. The shelves were
still full on the second day of the sale, but even more merchandise will be
arriving in a week or so.
