Perfect Tees
, New York, NY
With the weekend right around the corner, I thought dedicating a post to my favorite type of casual wear was more than appropriate. I love t-shirts. Plain ones, printed ones, solids, stripes… you name it, I own it. Most of you are probably wondering what’s so great about a t-shirt and I could probably list 100 reasons why I love t-shirts but instead I’ll give you my top 3.
Reason No. 3: They’re cheap.
At $19.50, J. Crew sells its perfect fit short-sleeve v-neck t-shirt in over ten colors. J. Crew isn’t the only place you can buy a basic t-shirt. Most major retailers sell them in a variety of colors so you can easily stock up on them. I probably have a t-shirt in every color and shade possible. T-shirts are great to just throw on when you need to run a quick errand and once you find a brand and cut that you like, you’ll always know that you look great when you put it on.
Reason No. 2 – They’re always in style.
For as long as I can remember, t-shirts have always found a way to be relevant to current trends. Just last year, when the thing was to wear sequins, Lynn Ritchie designed this striped sequined t-shirt. For only $68.99, you could take a risk with an old favorite.
Reason No. 1 – They’re great for self-expression.
One of my favorite animals in the world is the butterfly. I’m sure I tortured my parents begging for new ways to show how much I loved butterflies when I was little. But now, I’m satisfied with just wearing the occasional t-shirt. Anthropologie has this great t-shirt for $58 and I can already think of about a million ways to wear it. (With jeans, with a high-waisted skirt, for starters).
