The New York Uniform
Bring Back the Black!0
As I pondered my next post, dreaming of diaphanous one-shouldered gowns, safari-inspired button-ups, and paint-splattered silk dresses, I thought about what I ACTUALLY wear. Me, myself, and I, a self-proclaimed New Yorker, wear mostly…BLACK. Black Chanel bags, black skinny jeans, black high top converse, black buttery soft leather jackets, black James Perse tees… So I decided to devote an entire post to the most wearable color ever. Oh, boohoo it’s almost spring, but in New York, even in the middle of summer, black is always chic for day and night. Just pull out the brown platforms and straw fedoras for day, and the chunky gold jewelry and Louboutins for night.
James Perse Casual Tee, $52.My favorite tee EVER
(I currently own FIVE of these in different colors!!)
The Hot-off-the-press Dream Bag:
Alexander Wang Chain Strap Shoulder Bag, $595. Can’t you just smell that distressed, buttery soft leather?
Elizabeth and James Bardot pants, $198. Designed by the Olsens and named after one of my fave French style icons, Brigitte Bardot. What could be better?
The Trendy Yet Classy Dress:
Rachel Pally One Shoulder Sheath Dress, $194. Follow the one-shouldered dress trend, yet keep it classy in a dress that would make Audrey Hepburn squeal.
Kork-Ease Bette, $189. Kick it seventies-style in these sexy, sky high platforms.
There you have it, the bare necessities of a fashionista. Now add some bright pink satin Miu Miu heels and some bling, and go can strut your stuff down Madison Avenue.
