Mermaid Parade!

Vaudeville may be dead but there are some New York traditions that are still alive…and flipping! Every June, thousands of people descend on Coney Island for the annual Mermaid Parade. Its your chance to see hundreds of people dressed up in elaborate mermaid costumes–and dress up yourself! The parade takes place this Saturday, the 23rd. It’s free! It starts at 2pm and is followed by the Mermaid Ball at 6 pm. Tickets for the ball are $10. Get some cheap grub at Nathan’s! All in all the perfect day!
