Manhattan Vintage Show & Sale
, New York, NY
WHAT: Manhattan Vintage Show & Sale
WHY: Holy fashion orgasm! The theme of this season’s Manhattan Vintage Show is based on HBO’s spicy new series Boardwalk Empire, which is set in the 1920s and features to-die-for flapper fashions. At the event, actual outfits worn by the characters in the show will be on display (sadly, not for sale), but fret not-you can take home goods from more than 90 vendors, including What Goes Around Comes Around and Amarcord Vintage. There will be tons to sift through, so we’ve highlighted pieces to look out for: A khaki military-style trench from the ’60s is tagged $210, and a camel dress coat with lace details runs for $320. Plus, we’ve scouted your 2010 Halloween costume: A ’50s full felt skirt ($300) will make your Sandy from Grease outfit truly authentic.
WHEN: 10/8 – 10/9, F (1-8), Sat (11-6).
WHERE: 125 W 18th St between Sixth and Seventh Aves (212-691-7297)
