Like Daughter, So Shall Go Her Mother!

Travel-sized beauty products are perfect for jet-setting, I wouldn’t argue that. They’re also great for toting around in your totes (laugh, please, I bet you). But I have another reason to love them. It’s because I can get my beauty fix in smaller ‘portions’ that I use up and can throw away. You see, I have a problem – I tend to hold onto makeup past when you’re supposed to throw it out (you know how it goes – such and such expires in x amount of months, blah blah blah), and that’s not good. But I hate the thought of throwing out something! Tell me you can relate?!

This is where these smaller-sized products are a handy device that literally relieves my soul! Or, something. What’s amazing is that my mother is going on a trip to visit her sister (my aunt, who happens to make the most delicious blueberry muffins…Mmm…) and I can score brownie points with her by sending to her a package of plane-approved beauty she can take along. So really, this isn’t selfish shopping!

Something I will buy for me is the Stella Eau de Parfum Roll-On ($16.00) from Sephora. It’s the perfect size to put in any purse, or even in my top desk drawer to easily apply. The price is very friendly-looking, too. I’ve never owned this fragrance before, but I’ve tried it on so many times I’m almost positive I’ll love it. The pro is that if for some reason I don’t like Stella, I haven’t committed a ton of cash to the purchase.

Sue Devitt Mini Stars Lip Gloss Palette Vega ($28.00) from Barney’s New York lets you wear a bunch of color combinations from just that mini palette. That means bulky lip glosses and lip sticks can go buh-bye for a trip, while this finds a nice little spot in your luggage.
Nordstrom has an exclusive on the Essie Fall 2008 Mini 4-Pack ($15.00). This works out in that wonderful way you never think will happen in life because I can split this with my mom. She’ll like the rich colors Tomboy No More and Lacy Not Racy. This leaves me with Forever Young (red, red, red!) and the bold No Boundaries. I’ve been craving darker nails, so I’m biding my time for summer to cease, funny as that may seem to some.

Much love,
Sofia

Update: Lola saw this post and is ordering the Essie Fall 2008 Mini Pack right away. Copycat! Kidding, kidding.
