After last week’s post on cold-weather wear for your pup, we decided to investigate further. We found some clever tips for keeping your pets warm – and some accessories to go with them. I’ll be taking a look at theses over the next several days.

Paw-rescue.org recommends coating you dogs feet with a big of cooking spray before she goes out in very cold weather. This helps protect dry, sensitive paws.

Going one step beyond that, they recommend gearing up your pooch in booties if you’re going out for an extended period of time, or if they are particularly sensitive to cold.

Check out LandsEnd.com for some great prices on cold-weather gear for your pup including booties. They are $24.50-$35.00 for a set of four. Over at PetBoots.com, you can get booties for $9.95 for one, up to $34.83 for a set of four, depending on the size you order.

Putting what are essentially shoes on your dog may seem a bit silly at first, but i just spent some time in some VERY cold weather and now I see why they would come in handy!
