WHAT: Homemade: New York City Indie Market

WHY: Manhattanites can save themselves a round-trip on the subway now that Homemade: Brooklyn, a showcase of local artists, chefs and designers, is coming to the main island. The pop-up shop will be littered with indie wares from 11 New York stores and up-and-coming labels, including Brooklyn Rehab, Species by the Thousands and Georgia Varidakis. Scoop up home decor, such as Erin Voorhies floral garlands made from vintage encyclopedias ($34), or cool clothing and accessories, like No Lost Witches zigzag tees ($40) and Alma Handmade porcelain bubble-gum rings ($60). On Saturday night, bring your own booze and nosh on free Robicelli’s cupcakes while listening to Brooklyn musician and performance artist Glazz.

WHEN: Through 9/26, F–Su (noon–8).

WHERE: 139 Norfolk St, between Rivington and Stanton Sts (201-888-4653)
