Happiness Is a Warm Pet Bed
As loathe as I am to say this, it’s coming on winter. Sure the breeze is crisp now, but pretty soon we’ll be feeling windchills. My cat Jax loves sleeping on top of the radiator, so I put a little bed on top of the radiator for him. He just curls up in there and sleeps all day (lucky bastard). If you live in a newer house and don’t have a radiator, your cat might find a harder time finding a warm place to sleep. On top of the heating vent? I don’t know–isn’t it a fire hazard to have cat hair floating around inside the vent? Next to the fireplace? One inch the wrong way and you’ll have a flaming feline. (As you can see I’ve been giving this a lot of thought–I’m looking to move in to one of RockRose’s buildings and those buildings don’t have radiators.)
I happened to see an ad for a heated pet bed. Basically you take one of those microwavable herb sack things–like those pillows for menstrual cramps–and stick it in the pet bed. That way your cat’s bed is nice and warm and not near anything flammable. It’s also supposed to be good for cats who are older and arthritic (lord knows Jax is getting up there) and it’s vet recommended.
Sigh…I hear Jax scratching at the door. Better give him his Fancy Feast.
