Halloween is coming--Help!!!

OMG, what am I gonna be for Halloween?? I can’t make up my mind! I know one thing: I’m not going to wear one of those costumes where they chopped it into hot pants or a micromini skirt. I’m sorry but it just looks stupid and tacky and kind of sexist. I mean, if you want to wear a slutty outfit why don’t you dress up like an actual slut? You can dress up like an 1800s saloon whore or French can-can girl and look like you’re wearing an actual costume instead of looking ridiculous. Or you can wear a renaissance-era costume. It won’t have a short skirt but it will have a low cut top for optimal cleavage.

Me, I’m trying to decide what to do. I mean, I could always do something easy like a Gypsy: a long prairie skirt, a bandana and gold hoop earrings. But I’ve done that before and I want to try something different. I might dress up like a Geisha or a modern Harajuku girl. Or maybe a Greek goddess. Then again I did see this very gothic looking flamenco dress made of black tulle that had definite possibilities.

I know that the miniskirt and hot pant costumes are very popular (the catholic school girl, the referee, Alice in Wonderland, the naughty nurse), but I just don’t think that what you wear when you’re acting out your boyfriend’s fantasies is appropriate for a Halloween party. Call me old fashioned but I think some things should be left to the imagination–and isn’t that what Halloween is all about?
