First 2011 Beauty Game Changers

We like bringing new products to your attention from time to time – some tried by us, most of them recommended by trade magazines. Why do I prefer recommendations made by magazines and not bloggers? I love bloggers as much as the next person. But when it comes to recommending beauty products, I think they are as biased as magazines are. Since they have access to a limited number of products, it makes them even more biased, and less informative than the beauty editor of a magazine. So when WWD came up with a list of a “handful of products that look to change a woman’s beauty regimen or create a new category” last week, we jumped at the opportunity to review their review and pick our favorites:

Veripur Hand SanitizerVeripur:
is described as a “hand sanitizer that claims to work for four hours straight, is alcohol free, uses moisturizers in its formula and is said to kill 99.9 percent of germs on contact”.
Fusion Brands Inc.
A 3-fluid-ounce tube, available in both Unscented and Fresh scent varieties, will retail for $5.99 while a 13-fluid-ounce bottle will carry a price tag of $10.99. Available in February at Walgreens. We say: not a beauty product per se, but a good improvement to a well needed product.
Neutrogena’s Wet SkinNeutrogena’s Wet Skin:
claims it is the first waterproof sunblock specifically designed for wet skin application. It has been formulated to provide broad spectrum sun protection in wet or sweaty conditions, Wet Skin will be available in SPF 30, 50 and 85.
Available on February at drugstores nationwide.
$8.99-$10.99, depending on SPF level.
We say: Who knew there is an SPF 85? Worth trying
RickyCare KeratinPlus and No-Frizz hair brushes and combs:RickyCare KeratinPlus and No-Frizz hair brushes and combs:
Remember how Grandma told you to brush your hair 100 times before you went to bed?. Ricky’s NYC has created brushes and combs that are infused with olive oil (No-Frizz) and keratin (KeratinPlus) that aim to smooth, defrizz and add shine to hair after several strokes. Now finally there is a good reason to listen to Grandma.
Available in May at Ricky’s NYC locations.
$9.99-$15.99
We say: Go for it!
