WHAT: Fashion Lives Downtown for Fashion’s Night Out

WHY: Fashions Night Out in the Meatpacking District, which we have sub-named—Fashion Lives Downtown is a series of events and cocktail parties, open to the public, featuring special appearances by celebrities, editors, fashion experts, in-store events and special offers at over 50 retail destinations throughout the Meatpacking District. Here are some of the major highlights:

• Theory, 38 Gansevoort Street. Debut of Theory Fashion Insider: The Remix, featuring a live DJ set by Andrew Wyatt, a founding member and the lead vocalist of Swedish/American trio Miike Snow, and a video “mash up” by artist Philip Ashley. Theory Fashion Insider stylists will be on hand to remix shoppers’fall looks. Specialty cocktails.
• Earnest Sewn, 821 Washington Street. Enjoy 25% off of denim, a gift with any denim purchase and cocktails.
• Maybelline New York,13th Street and 9th Avenue. Be among the first 50 to arrive and receive a limited edition Maybelline makeup bag by fashion designer Michael Angel. Get made- over by a top Maybelline artist and “trut your stuff” down a catwalk for a chance to win a year’s supply of Maybelline makeup.
• Tory Burch, 38 Little West 12th Street. Join Tory Burch at the second FNO block party at her Meatpacking Boutique. DJ Cassidy spinning, Shake Shack serving BBQ. A limited edition tote bag inspired from the Fall 2010 collection will be given to every customer who makes a purchase of $100 or more.
