Eyelets for Summer

You know, Rickey will probably kill me if I buy another outfit but I just can’t resist this summer’s trend: eyelets. Breezy and old fashioned, eyelets add a sense of romance to any ensemble. And girls, I love eyelets. They remind me of the old clothes my abuela had hanging in her closet, pieces she’d had for years. Tops with eyelet details, skirts with eyelet panels, and eyelet dresses are all the rage right now. The best thing about an eyelet piece is its timelessness–the classic femininity of an eyelet dress will have you feeling classically beautiful for years to come.
Liz Claiborne makes an eyelet halter dress that I absolutely adore: it’s feminine, flattering and flirty. They also make an eyelet dress with an empire waist and mini-cap sleeves, for a romantic, fresh, summertime-in-Venice look. For a more bohemian look, go with Ralph Lauren‘s Eyelet Miranda Skirt paired with a denim jacket. And to be trendy but still office appropraite, go with an eyelet blouse by Michael Kors.
