Examining the Popular Acai Berry that's Invading Everything from Beauty Products to Jelly Beans

Acai fruit beauty products have become increasingly popular, even if we can’t pronounce the word ‘acai’. I know that I can’t. What is acai? It’s a berry that you would find in Amazon Rainforests if your travels led you there. I’m assuming you take vacations at the Hamptons and not the Rainforest, of course. But maybe I’m wrong!

Why is acai popular now? Well, it’s absolutley no secret we all want to fight signs of aging. But how do we do that? Do we just Botox our faces into oblivion? Well, using acai berries, which have anti-oxidants, you may increase your chances of keeping your skin soft and wrinkle-free without any needles and injections. The acai berry extract can help your cells regenerate quicker, which leads to a face that’s moisturized and fresh-looking. Your skin really does absorb things, which is why your mothers always would lecture you on never sleeping with make-up on. Your teenage acne didn’t need oily foundation making the problems worse, oy! Anyway, since your face is like a sponge, it can work in your favor.

Acai fruit has Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, B-Complex, and Omega fatty acids. Natural beauty products are always something I enjoy using. Of course, when magazines suggest that I go to my kitchen to make my own natural beauty product by grinding up ginger root and egg yolks to put in my hair – well, that’s not something I’m at all interested in doing. (The thought of egg yolk in my hair makes my fidget in my seat.)

There are people who try homemade face masks made of assorted mashed-up fruits, which is fine and all, but for the price of buying some of these fruits you might as well get something pre-packaged for you. More than that, you can get products that are serving two purposes. Like say, a blush you want to use so you don’t look like a pasty zombie during the day, which also has acai to keep your skin soft all day. If you’re interested in that, then take a look at what I’ve found…

Apparently, Jelly Belly now even makes jelly beans with acai flavor! Who knows what they taste like? I’ve heard everything from chocolate to cherries, and chocolate-covered cherries are always pretty yummy…

Much love,

Sofia
