Electronic Pampering

On a day that has inspired very little in me, I need some cheering up. Shopping is always good, but shopping for things on sale is always a nice perk. In the world of apparel, handbags or shoes – sometimes you won’t want what is on sale because that means it’s an old trend. But when it comes to electronics, unless you insist on having the very best the minute it comes out (and who can afford that?) sales in that vein are pretty much always good.

I’m not too familiar with JR.com, but I decided to give it a try from hearing good things. I went to their ‘Price Drops’ section, and this is what I found that peaked my interest:

Honeywell HWM-330 QuickSteam Warm Moisture Humidifier – Sale, $39.99

I have fond memories of my parents putting a humidifier in my room when I was little, whenever I was sick. It seemed like some sort of magical device, although I was wary of it. But now, as I’m older, I realize that I loathe the way that winter dries out my skin. For the listed price, I can see myself gladly purchasing this as a long-term investment. It boasts that it has bacteria-free vapor, which can only be of the good. It will work well in large rooms, it’s not too heavy, and I think even I could operate this bad puppy.

Conair Wall Mount Mirror with 5x Magnification and Variable Lighting – Sale, $19.99

If I hadn’t already invested in a nice mirror that lights up for applying makeup, I would snag this. I’m not the kind of girl who likes to hurriedly apply makeup while leaning over a bathroom sink. Yes, I do it – but it’s not my preferred way. I like to sit at my vanity table and use a magnified mirror so I can apply things properly. Makeup really is, can be – and dare I say should be, an art. You need the right tools. And just having the right brushes isn’t enough. This mirror is fog free which is really ingenious because the one problem with other mirrors of this sort is that when you get up close, you’ll exhale and the mirror will fog up and waste your time. It comes with four light settings, which is fun and also helpful.

Interactive Health HT985100010 Simultaneous Calf / Foot Ottoman Massager – Sale, $299.99

If you’re a woman who wears the type of heels that so many of us do, then you understand why I would take a liking to this. I hate the horrible achy feeling of having walking around a mall all day, or having gone out in really cute new heels – only to have realized ten minutes into dinner that they hurt like hell. I say, pamper yourself. Slip your tired puppies into this machine that feels like Suede on bare feet, and pick one of the two speeds. You’ll feel relaxed and might even be up for shopping again, the next day. This is good for anyone who has to stand/walk around a lot – for any job. It’s not too early to buy gifts for people. What you say with a gift like this is, ‘I recognize that your job is hard, and I want you to take care of yourself.’ I know my Mom can never get my Dad to rub her feet, so this would be the next best option.

Ciao for now!

Jessica
