El Basurero

I think El Basurero is already listed on here, but I’m nominating it for nightlife anyway. El Basurero is a cool place to hang out because the music is good but not too loud, so you can converse without shouting. Personally, I can’t stand to be in a place that’s so loud you can’t have a conversation. Additionally, El Basurero has great sangria that won’t cost too much, and there are always plenty of people to keep the place hopping. During World Cup season, they show the games (maybe not all of them–they might show just the Latin American teams, I don’t know I haven’t been there for the games) but the place is PACKED when they’re showing futbol games. (Could be a good way to meet a Latin cutie? I’ll have to check it out). Located at 32-17 Steinway Street, Astoria, NY 11103 (cross-street: Broadway & 34th Avenue).
