Dresses to the Max

Last summer, maxi dresses were everywhere. This spring, they’re back and I’m loving them. Normally, I only wear floor length dresses for formal occasions. The number of formal occasions I’ve been to in the last couple of years, you could probably count on one hand and still have a few fingers left over. That said, I’m super excited to be able to make full-length dresses look casual again. The only down side to this trend? It’s a little pricey. But I like to think that you can spend on a dress what you would’ve spent on a bottom and top. Using that kind of math, I can justify just about any dress.

This aqua printed maxi shirred tube dress reminds me of summer. The prints and the shirring at the top make me want to throw on a pair of flip-flops, my favorite sun glasses and head straight to the beach. For $98, this turquoise print dress is gorgeous and definitely the price of any decent top and bottom put together.

In a dark blue print, this dress is a little less summer and a little more transitioning to warm weather. Made from a cotton material, this dress is definitely light and probably isn’t the best idea to wear tomorrow but it is a great idea to pick it up soon so that when the weather warms up, you’ll be ahead of the trend. Also $98, Hard Tail’s gauze maxi dress is available in navy blue or white, two really great colors.
