Cozy Blankets to Enjoy

Even though it’s excited to get ready for spring, and I’ve had the impulse to paint my toenails hot pink – it’s not hard to forget that it’s still winter, and therefore, cold outside. Feeling particularly cold the other night I grabbed a well-worn cream vintage blanket that was my great-grandmother’s. There’s something about wrapping yourself in a blanket that’s hard to replicate by doing anything else. Hugging works, yes. But other than that, blankets are sort of wonderful in this way that they let you have your space without letting you feel alone. Or cold. More here – park gate home

I found a blanket that is somewhat similar to the one that I have, at Anthropologie. It’s the Lucy Crochet Throw ($128.00). This is an ivory-colored cotton blanket with crocheted flowers. It looks like an antique. (#1)

Blankets make for a great decoration tool, too – since you can throw them over chairs or the end of your bed. If my sister hadn’t already left for her trip to Rome I would have suggested the Cashmere Travel and Blanket Pouch by Armand Diradourian ($485.00). You can pick from four colors: chiapparelli pink, moss green, clementine orange, or black. There’s no reason that cashmere has to be so serious, so I would go with one of the colors. My sister would have picked the green or pink, and those would be my picks as well. This is the ideal travel blanket because it has a pouch to carry it in, and it’s the best material ever. (#4)If you want a cashmere blanket (and who doesn’t?) that isn’t a travel size, I recommend the Hotel Collection “Stripe Cashmere” Throw Blanket ($270.00). This is exclusive to Macy’s. Two tonal stripes and a fringe hem decorate the blanket, letting it look luxurious while being able to blend into any home decor setting. It is available in brown, ivory, mocha, and burgundy. (#2)

For fans of Donna Karan, there is her new Essentials Throw Blanket in six different pale colors ($99.99 on sale). This is exclusive to Bloomingdales. I checked them all and they’re all in stock right now. I’m learning towards the sapphire one. It’s still a pale hue, not what you’d expect from the name, but it’s something I wouldn’t be so worried to use for fear of getting it dirty. If you’re a modern girl who likes simple things, you’ll like this blanket. (#3)So, there you have it. Some top blanket picks. And now I’m going to go snuggle up in one of mine and watch a bit of TV.Ciao for now,

Jessica
