Cost-effective food for Fido

31 December 2007

It’s easy to focus on cute pet products, but what about the stuff your canine companions really need? Enter discount dog food. Many of us don’t think about this option, as pet food is something we probably pick up as an after thought from our grocery store or pet retailer. Try for great deals on great food for your dog. You may have to buy in a little more bulk than you’re used to (for example, the Purina option comes in a 50 lb. bag for $30), but you’ll get a better per-ounce deal.   The largest bag you can buy on is a 37.5 lb bag for about $19.00.  This translates to a difference of about 30 cents per ounce. Which doesn’t sound like a lot, but it’s easy to save money when it comes to your pets – and that means more left over for puppy presents – like cute leashes and collars!
