Champion Vs. Challenger: Mac Studio Fix Faces off Against Chanel Double Perfection Powder
, New York, NY
Two foundations for oily skin. Only one can be the winner. Who will it be?
Omg, I’ve been watching too many reality shows! Lol. Anyway. I did get an email last week from a friend of mine…someone I knew in law school…I forget her name. Anyway she asked me which was better for oily skin: Mac’s Studio Fix or Chanel’s Double Perfection.
Being a Chanel girl, I’m a tad biased, so I decided to go elsewhere for an honest opinion. Users on makeupalley.com gave the Chanel Double Perfection Powder an overall rating of 4.3 and 78% of users said they would buy it again. Compare this to the numbers for Studio Fix: it got an overall rating of 3.0 and only 62% of users said they would buy it again. Bear in mind that only 191 people reviewed the Chanel product, while 1376 people reviewed Studio Fix. So it is possible that, with an increase in reviews, Chanel’s points could go down. But I’m no good at math and percentages and ratios and all that, so you’d have to ask someone who didn’t sleep through calculus.
Users on the Australian Vogue forum mentioned both Studio Fix and Chanel DPP in answer to a question about foundation for oily skin. Chanel was mentioned four times; Studio Fix only once, but the user said that she found Studio Fix to be “excellent”. One thing I will say is that the Studio Fix comes in many shades, many more shades, in fact, than Chanel. The “sun beige” shade of Chanel works for me. However, Noelle couldn’t find a Chanel shade for her skin tone. So that’s definetly something to keep in mind.
Ok, I’m out-ee.
