Rehabbing your space into eco-friendly quarters just became easier for Manhattanites with last Thursday’s launch of the environmental homeware retailer Green Depot’s first New York outpost. The Bowery location offers green products perfect for those ready to revamp their new pad or thinking of retooling their household habits in an eco-conscious way. Those prepping to relocate can pick up a range of eco moving supplies like the plastic-free bubblewrap substitute Greenwrap or packing peanuts made of cornstarch and potato starch that disintegrate once you add water—makes for a biodegradable way to get rid of unwanted clutter post-move. For a more permanent touch, there are floor to ceiling options like EcoTimber flooring, bamboo countertops, and a no-VOC paint bar where you can custom match your wall shades. Those not willing to make the dive can start out with their biodegradable household cleaners, compost pails, and soy wax candles to ease themselves into greener living.

Once you have re-painted, re-tiled and re-modeled in an eco-friendly manner, why stop there? There are may places that supply you with the right item to furnish your new green pad with even greener items. Target is not only less expensive than many “green” homegood stores, but they have solutions for everything.

Energy Efficiency: CFL Lightbulbs, Home Lighting, water filters, Power Strips, Thermostats, Low-flow Shower Heads, Energy Star Appliances, & Rechargeable Batteries. You can also find varieties of LED lighting and solar powered goodies for the home. You can also get some of the berkey water filter coupon here

Target- There are no Target’s in the city at the moment. The closest one is in Jersey, but must we really cross the river if we can order online?

If our history, present, and future aren’t enough reason to inspire you to vote for the next leader of the United States of America, maybe this will be. Simply sport your “I Voted” sticker (with pride!) to any Starbucks, Baskin Robbins, or Krispy Kreme to receive free special goodies for your patriotice efforts! Starbucks is passing out free java, BR has scoops to share and Krispy Kreme has designed a special donut in honor of this All American Day, a star shaped donut with red and blue sprinkles!

Nothing says U.S.A. like coffee and refined sugar. God Bless America!

So run to your voting post, if you already haven’t. The rewards will go much further than some sugary snacks, but with the economy and everyone on a budget crunch, some freebies can’t hurt, right?

Since my main gig is a beauty writer, I am lucky enough to get backstage access at the shows during fashion week. After much needed recovery time (between blisters and hangovers- I was beat!) I am happy to share this very exclusive info with you vogue city gals!

The makeup at Rag and Bone was designed and applied by Gucci Westman of Revlon. This makeup rockstar works on stars like Drew Barrymore,   Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Aniston.

Since R&B is a very edgy, rock and roll lifestyle design team, the hair and makeup were designed to match.

Check out my girl Jessica Stam!

Gucci used lots of highlighters on the skin from the Revlon Illuminance Highlighting Palette and blue and green shadows to create a “dirty, metal head’s girlfriend” look. Gucci said, “The inspiration was Kate Moss applying eyeliner carelessly in a crowded pub. It’s that cool, dirty rocker chick who always looks hot without any effort.”

The hair was styled by Fekkai using their mousse and texturizing cream along with a diffuser. The goal was textured, un-washed, dirty rock and roll hair.
