I am really loving handbags by Kooba. If you want an upgrade on ‘casual’ I recommend looking into this brand. The stylishly elite like Sarah Jessica Parker and Sienna Miller are already fans. I’ve already got a favorite Kooba bag, the: Kooba ‘Gracie’ Convertible Bucket/Tote Bag. I’ve found it in three colors, from two different stores. Buckle down, because you are going to have to make a hard choice. Breathe deeply and let intuition guide you. A Xanax wouldn’t hurt, either. (Kidding, mostly.)
Nordstrom has the Gracie in white or black. Neiman Marcus has it in green/teal, but do note that they call it a shoulder bag (same bag, though). The white and black from Nordstrom come with the price tag of $625.00. The more elusive teal bag from Neiman Marcus is going for $725.00. The teal is actually my favorite out of all three, but one does (unfortunately) have to consider pricing matters. Then again, this is something you will get so much use out of, you can argue that it’ll pay for itself. That’s logic, so I say – go with whatever is your favorite color. Then, you can’t go wrong. Sometimes logic is all you need. Other times you need 200 canapes for a party in one hour, but that’s another story.

Alright – I am announcing that it’s time for some self-love. (Minds out of the gutter, please!) So, I’ve decided to have a virtual shopping spree and let you ‘shop with me’ by seeing what I’d like pick, and why. I also included a bit of gossip. Consider this a chance to have a girl-talk moment, whenever you have a spare five minutes. Factor it into your hectic day of coworkers and/or kids, this will let you relax. So would a day at the spa. Let’s schedule those for later this week.
I headed over to Takashimaya-ny.com and saw these little beauties. The shape is what makes me pause and go ‘oooh’. But I must point out that I think the overall effect of these pretties gets lost on the black/black version. The grey option though…veeeerrry niiiice, huh? While we’ve been galavanting everywhere with our big bags (which I think I embraced a bit later than others, but I do enjoy) that hold our entire life, this would make for a nice change of pace. All you need sometimes is your essentials. (Trust me, five lip products are not essentials for one single day or night.)

Malibu Moon Clutch, in Grey or Black ($390.00).

Sadly, it’s over, but the Delman shoes sample sale at the Metropolitan Pavilion on West 18th b/w 6th and 7th was pretty darn great. I thought since it was the last day they might be sold out of all the best styles, but i thought wrong, as I walked away $160 poorer and with two great new pairs of heels! Every box was marked with a colored dot that coordinated with certain prices ranging from $40 to $227.50. Delman sample shoes were $30, “Nina dolls” shoes were $5, and handbags were $5 (I think they were all gone by the time i got there though.) I was told by the head of the sale that they were changing head designers and this was their “factory sale” to get rid of all the leftovers from the old designer. I can’t wait to see what the new designer comes up with next season!
Here are some of my favorite shoes

I bought these in black for $80

And these in brown for $80 as well

Patent leather colored flats

Pointy toe gray flats

Black patent flats

Lots O’ Shoes!

For great Delman finds head Zappos.com or Delmanshoes.com. You can add yourself to the mailing list there to find out when the next sample sales are!
Until next time,
Arianna

I’m always saving magazines, or at least pages from magazines. I actually have gone so far as to organize my findings into white binders based on their topic (home decor, fashion, hairstyles, crafty ideas I’d love to try even though I’m hopeless at them….) so that everything is easy to locate. One page I saved and keep thinking of is from Lucky Magazine. Every time I see it I’m like ‘oh yea, I want to do this!’

The idea is simple, and I believe it conveys the coveted ‘I’m so stylish I don’t even have to try’ look of fashionista’s like Sienna Miller or Carrie Bradshaw of Sex and the City.

In the picture, a woman is sitting on porch steps. Her outfit consists of skinny jeans and a basic tank top (red). She has clean, minimal makeup, and her hair is wind-blown (no abuse of styling products, thank you). You may be thinking, ‘So what?’ Well, the standout feature is that upon her feet are jeweled, glittery heels that you could see someone wearing on a red carpet. They’re accented by red nail polish on her toenails. Do want! And it’s easy to copy this and make it all our own. All we really need to do is find the right evening shoes to sparkle with a pared-down tank and jeans.
