The polls are in, my dear fashion friends, if you don’t have something Tory Burch already, we want to know what you’re waiting for. The brand isn’t over-hyped, it’s better than you’ve heard. Tory Burch, herself, recently told the LA Times that while she first found imitators of her brand flattering, she’s begun to get annoyed. (I’m paraphrasing, but you get the gist. You can read the story here.) Basically, no imitations will do! You need the real deal.

The look of Tory Burch is 60’s and 70’s vacation luxe.

Lola is very pleased that I found Tory Burch leopard printed ballet flats for her. I’m happy that I found some excellent options for a new late-summer tote, as you can never have enough fashion tote bags.

It used to be that if a woman wanted a pair of comfortable shoes or sandals that they were regulated to something ugly and plain. I used to subscribe to the belief that if I wanted to dress stylish and cute, I couldn’t have anything athletic or comfortable. But now I’m so very aware that isn’t the case. But I’ve seemed to slip into a routine where my sneakers are for going to the gym and otherwise I just wear sandals. I’m ready to acknowledge the error of my ways!

Lola will probably be the one to mock me ever-so-lovingly when I show up in my new kicks. I don’t have a very sporty past, or present. I mean, okay, I played Volleyball once. But, er, I mean literally once. That ball is so HARD (not plush or soft at all, like I was lead to believe) that after I played about five minutes in gym class I learned to become good at another sport – dodge ball. Hehe. Get it? Yea, I basically spent my time dodging the ball and giving semi-apologetic looks to my teammates. But I never felt too guilty, because they could do it better than me. So really, I was helping them win by not messing up and interfering!
So, when Lola asks me why I need shoes/sneakers like this, I am prepared. It’s because my feet need to rest when not wearing the heels I love, and I need to maneuver some places quickly – like the sales at Macy’s!
It’s time for some casual sneakers that are meant for running around, but not just on a volleyball court.

I’m not a spy, and I’ll never be in the CIA or FBI. Not like that’s supposed to be terribly surprising news. I didn’t think that anyone thought that. My point would be that even though I’m not a spy or anything (and I don’t even like James Bond movies) I like the idea of being a spy.

I mean, you’d be in constant danger – sure. But you’d have tons of cool gadgets, and you’d be full of so much knowledge that you could kill a man by just touching his shoulder in the right spot. (Not that you should unless you had to.)

I have this friend, Alex, who used to walk through airports with sunglasses on, walking very fast. Why? Because no fail, people would always assume he was some sort of celebrity. But they would also be aware of the ‘stay away’ vibe. And what’s bad about that? There are plenty of times I don’t want people to bother me: during a bath, when I attempt to meditate, or during an episode of Lost.  Sometimes even when I’m out, I just want to get through with a type of shield all over me, being left alone. That’s not a crime! Never feel guilty for wanting to be incognito.

That was my inspiration for finding these items that speak of being mysterious and unapproachable:

Marc By Marc Jacobs Softy Poppy Black Tote ($388.00) from bloomingdale’s.

GUESS by Marciano “Carrie” Pump ($90.00) from bloomingdale’s.

Calvin Klein Large Plastic Square Sunglasses ($58.00) from Macy’s.
Charter Club Woven Belt with Covered Buckle (Orig. $38.00 Now $27.99) from Macy’s.

Much love (and be fierce!),

Sofia

When my mood is beige, the last thing I need is to be wearing that color. In fact, throw out all of the neutrals. Bold is in. Bright accessories are what I decided to search for, and I’m only showing you my very favorite picks from bloomingdale’s (they’re having a sale until July 7th) and Nordstrom.

The Ralph Lauren Caliana slides are great for the Hampton-bound. For those who aren’t afraid of blue (think deep tropical ocean blue) I found a Gustto Costella bag for you to rock. Or perhaps you want something bright, beautiful, and casual? Marc Jacobs has a fashion tote bag you need to see.

1. Lauren Ralph Lauren “Caliana” Espadrille Slide from bloomingdale’s (SALE $54.99).

2. Gustto Costella Medium Bag from bloomingdale’s (SALE $551.60).
3. MARC BY MARC JACOBS ‘Totally Turnlock – Teri’ Tote from Nordstrom ($428.00).

Stylishly yours,

Jessica Rae
