In our dear vogue city, you can instantly transform your outlook by popping on a piece of statement jewelry. Nothing could be better than this geometric gold necklace from Alexis Bittar, found at Intermix.
J-Crew has this chunky triple scroll gold braclet that you just KNOW would be fun to wear.
As much as I love this Roberto Coin classic gold ring pair of earrings, I love the Roberto Coin classic gold ring necklace even MORE. Both are found at Bergdorf Goodman.
Okay, and I am totally obsessed with the Links of London yellow gold raindance bracelet. While each individual string is delicate – the composition has a hefty feel to it because of the sheer number of chains involved. I didn’t like any of those Johnny Depp Pirate movies, and have ZERO want to be a pirate – but this is some serious loot. The imagery reminds me of tangled, shimmering, seaweed. Which, okay, is weird, but somehow I like it anyway. Oh, and you can find it at bloomies.
There is a reason I featured only gold statement jewelry and you’ll find out next Monday!
Much love,
Sofia

For a while now I’ve been fascinated with the idea of ‘healing crystals’ and ‘healing gemstones’, I mean, do they really work? Is it possible that something so pretty can actually work as a source of revitalization and renewal? ‘Cause if so, sign me up! Do healing gemstones work? Well, I think it’s hard to say definitively. If your mind is closed to the idea of it working, it would probably cancel out any help you’d otherwise get. I’ve never had my palm read, although I have had someone point out the color of my aura (light blue – they said it meant I was filled with happiness, and I was!) so I have an open mind about these types of things.
Nylon Magazine recently featured Unearthen jewelry by Gia Bahm. Bahm combines crystals with gold vintage bullet casings to make necklaces that are truly unique. You can purchase them at Barneys.
“Put self-revelations into action and stimulate action”, with the Unearthen Apatite & Tangerine Quartz Necklace for $450.00. Click the picture to be taken to the product.
Unearthen Watermelon Quartz Necklace $450.00
If you aren’t digging the healing quality and you just want to salivate over how beautiful crystal can look, then look no further than the Rock Crystal Quartz Bracelet by H. Stern for Diane von Furstenberg. Pricey at $8,900.00, it’s also priceless!
Much love,
Sofia

While browsing for jewelry at Barneys.com I came across several Giles & Brother pieces that I fell in love with instantly. I already knew I was totally obsessed with Philip Crangi jewelry, who is the ‘Brother’ here. I saw a Crangi ring recently that I swore I would wear as an engagement ring every day of my life, of course I don’t have a fiance yet. Oh, but there are always prospects!
The Giles & Brother jewelry seems delicate in design, but made to look raw – which gives a nice give-and-take to the balance of elements. The beauty of most of these creations is that they are all a little bit imperfect, thus making them all the more appealing.
Giles & Brother is a design team composed of two siblings. Their website (worth taking a look for the queer-but-beautiful illustrations) says they are, “Inspired by everything from classic estate jewelry to the textiles of Africa and beyond”.
With this being the time of statement jewelry, there’s never been a more perfect time to indulge in one of the large mother of pearl necklaces.
Large Heart Earrings ($325.00)
Mother of Pearl Cage Necklace ($685.00)
Brass Cuff ($155.00)
Emerald Cut Cage Earrings ($325.00)
