It’s good to be back, although I hoped that somehow spring would have miraculously come to New York while I spent a long weekend in Connecticut. No such luck. I believe winter just forgot to leave this year.

Everything seems slower this week. The building where I live is quiet; people seem to have left to celebrate the holidays with families outside of New York. There are less sample sales too, and I believe the flash sales are less “flashy.” Despite all that, I did manage to find few sales to recommend you.

Starting at 11AM:

Sperry Top-Sider at RueLaLa.com

Why?

I hear some of you saying “Sperry whaat?” OK, first off, I recommend this sale mainly for your significant other. Boat-loving ladies can pick from the women’s sale, as well. If you didn’t know, these are the first boat shoes in history and therefore a piece of preppy Americana.

Sperry Top-Sider at RueLaLa.com

Be Bold, Be Bright at RueLaLa.com

Why?

I am dying for a drop of color in my wardrobe. I have been looking for a yellow bag and I hope this sale will have one to fit my style and budget.

Be Bold, Be Bright at RueLaLa.com

Starting at 12PM:

Herve Leger at Gilt.com

Why?

If you don’t want to be noticed next time you go to a party, skip this sale. It is not humanly possible to wear one of Herve Leger’s “bandage” dresses and blend in. They are unapologetically sexy and surprisingly flattering for different body types.

Herve Leger at Gilt.com

Well, that’s it for today. Tomorrow is another day. Even if you are not looking to buy, don’t miss an opportunity to educate yourself.

We made it. It’s Friday! And next week, whether you observe Passover or Easter, you’ll be celebrating something. Let’s quickly go over the things I’ll be keeping an eye on these next couple of days.

Starting Friday, March 22nd at 12PM:

Derek Lam & 10 Crosby at Gilt.com

Why?

OK, so he might not be my favorite designer, but everybody else adores him, so I will most certainly check out this sale. I love his idea of modern interpretation of classic silhouettes, so hopefully I’ll find that piece that will make me see what Anna and Michelle see in him. I love discovering new designers at discounted prices. I feel it reduces my anxiety knowing that at least I paid less. Note: always check if that particular item is returnable, as not all items on a particular flash site have the same return policy.

Starting Sunday, March 24th at 8PM:

Sunday Night STYLEATHON at RueLaLa.com

Why?

Because honestly, that’s where the real bargains are. It is also the element of surprise, as you never know what you’ll find. It’s the real “Bargain Games,” shall we say, darlings. Plus, after a long weekend, a little adrenaline rush gets us pumped and ready for the Monday morning commute.

Sunday Night STYLEATHON at RueLaLa.com

Starting Monday, March 25th at 11AM:

Givenchy handbags at RueLaLa.com

Why?

You know my theory: invest in IT handbags because they last forever.

I don’t know if you are a Givenchy girl, but if Nightingale, Pandora or Lucrezia satchels are your style, you might want to add this sale to your calendar. However, before you invest in one of these handbags (or anything else for that matter) take a look at your lifestyle and wardrobe first. Make sure the item is what you need, not what you want.

Nicole Miller at RueLaLa.com

Why?

If you happen to be a corporate girl — and a fan of Nicole Miller but cannot make it to their March 26th New York Sample Sale — this is your chance to score some print tops for work or halter dresses for business dinners. For me, it will also be an opportunity to test prices for flash sales/New York sample sales, as holding both at the same time has become a trend.

Have fun this weekend. Don’t hate me; I’ll be in CT at our country home for a long weekend.

Today’s sales are for regular gals who take the subway and stay online at Fairway after work. Although yesterday’s sale roundup was more of a “just in case I hit the jackpot one day I know how much everything costs,” I certainly hope you ended up buying something. I personally didn’t. Not even the Frette sheet I had planned on purchasing. Credit or no credit, I like to get creative with my sheets, combining different sets, and their selection would not have worked with what I already have.

So, let’s go back to today. If yesterday’s sales were for celebrities and socialites, today’s sales are for the pragmatic career girl (Brooks Brothers), the girly girl(Perfectly Polished: Fit and Flare Dresses) and the creative career girl (Theyskens’ Theory).

Starting at 11AM:

Brooks Brothers at RueLaLa.com

Why?

This sale has timeless pieces, which will be your “bread and butter looks” for more than a solitary season. They’re garments that will make you look polished without looking like you read every fashion blog out there. My advice for a polished career look is to start with timeless garments and then add a statement accessory that becomes a conversation piece.

Brooks Brothers at RueLaLa.com

Theyskens’ Theory at RueLaLa.com

Why?

Well, Theyskens’ Theory’s sharp design and cutting-edge vision could bring the desired edge to somebody’s wardrobe who works in a creative field.

Hello PR girls, this one is for you.

Theyskens' Theory at RueLaLa.com

Starting at 12PM:

Polished: Fit and Flare Dresses at Gilt.com

Why?

Because most of us have four pairs of black/gray trousers that we mix and match with whatever came back from the dry cleaning. Let’s put some yang into our wardrobe ladies. Spring is here, after all (at least that’s what the calendar says).

Polished: Fit and Flare Dresses at Gilt.com

Happy hunting. Shop responsibly.

I have to apologize in advance, as today’s sales have so many temptations. I don’t foresee your wallet escaping intact. Between being the first day of spring and having a long weekend lined up, I could barely contain my excitement when reviewing these sales.

Starting at 11AM:

From the Reserve: Hermes at RueLaLa.com

Why?

I’ll be honest with you, I cannot afford a Birkin. However, If I could buy one, I certainly would. I do not know any other bag that deserves to be called the “IT Bag” more. Today’s sale selection also includes Hermes’ signature silk scarves, bracelets and apparel.

From the Reserve: Hermes at RueLaLa.com

Frette New Markdowns at Ideeli.com

Why?

I am a big believer in luxury sheets. We do own a Frette sheet set and tomorrow I plan to purchase another one. While it’s true I have a $125 credit with Ideeli, making my decision easier, I would recommend purchasing, anyway. By the way, I went to Frette’s store on Madison Avenue and retail prices are… untouchable.

Frette New Markdowns at Ideeli.com

Casadei at RueLaLa.com

Why?

Because Casadei footwear is sexy. And because today is the first day of spring, after all, making it necessary to refresh your sandal collection. I will personally refrain from buying anything here since I have to take personal inventory of what I have and need for the spring, but if you already know what you need, go for it. I have a pair and they really are exquisite. If I could only give you one piece of advice, it would be to go for quality, not quantity. You don’t need 30 pairs of shoes, you need a few of really good quality.

Casadei at RueLaLa.com

We conducted a poll a while ago and it turns out some 3% of the readers of this site are socialites and celebrities. If you are one of them, you will certainly become giddy over the next sale.

Starting at 12PM:

Monique Lhuillier at Gilt.com

Why?

If you are a real celebrity — or aspire to be one — you should definitely have a Lhuillier in your armoire. Today’s sale features party skirts, lace-front cardigans, luxe knits and dresses with embroidered corsets that, regardless of the event, promise to make you the star of it.
