Carrie Inspired
Sex and the City inspired wardrobe that adds opulance to Boho-chic.
, New York, NY
While Sex and The City 2 is getting mixed reviews and sparking varying opinions about the plot, character development and storyline, the clothes are to die for. The Middle East-inspired colors, draping chiffon and statement jewelry were so ubiquitous we might have to watch it again because a wardrobe budget rumored to be around $10 million, we without a doubt missed something.
Various retailers are taking the show’s influence to their own storefront windows with ensembles both exotic and Boho chic. Maxi dresses got a makeover this season from cotton throw-ons to luxury. The girls doned 70’s-inspired dresses that, when properly chosen, can flatter most body types. Unlike the 80’s-inspired rocker chic dresses where the them was to add, add, add, to pull of Carrie, et. al.’s look balance opulence with simplicity. A simple dress gets an over the top necklace while a long patterned dress requires less jewelry. Trade in your aged flip-flops for jewel-adorned sandals or earthy wedges.
Keep chic top of mind. This time around, the Boho look isn’t comprised of your mucky Frye’s and cut off jeans. It’s more like Boho bombshell.

MIAMI (June 1, 2010) – No one knows fashion like the ladies of Sex and the City 2. No one knows eco-fashion like Ecoist (www.ecoist.com), makers of the original recycled candy wrapper handbags; the combination is tremendous. In the film, Ecoist’s Silver Mega ($178), is worn by Samantha Jones (actress Kim Cattrall), proving that upcycled fashion has reached the top echelon of celebrity style.
Ecoist handbags are handcrafted from upcycled
candy wrappers, soda labels, magazines, and other
waste-bound materials. Ecoist collects these materials
through its partnerships with major brands like Disney, Coca-Cola, Frito-Lay, and Mars and creates limited collection and one-of-a-kind handbags. Since 2004, Ecoist has saved more than 15 million candy wrappers from landfill. More than turning waste into most own handbags, Ecoist plants a tree for every handbag sold.
“We chose the Silver Mega because its very modern, the proportion is perfect, it went great with her look..it’s got a very glamorous look, day glamour” said Danny Santiago, Sex and the City’s stylist

“Just like the stylish women of Sex and the City, Ecoist handbags are trendsetters of eco-fashion, having our handbag chosen only confirms Ecoist’s commitment to creating handbags that are high-style while low-impact,” said Ecoist co-founder Jonathan Marcoschamer. Eye-catching, functional and durable, Ecoist never makes women choose between being in fashion and being environmentally responsible.
Available in three distinct patterns, including Ecoist’s signature Confetti, The Mega is the ultimate handbag for summer. Whether spending time with your favorite gals pals close to home or jetting off to exotic locales, The Mega can handle it all in style.
