Cafe Bar

Cafe Bar is a really hip place to hang out. It’s at 32-90 36th Street (at 34th Ave.), Astoria, NY 11106, Tel. 718-204-5273 –you can’t miss the pink neon sign that announces its presence. Cafe Bar isn’t dirt cheap but the atmosphere is fun, if hard to describe…sort of 50’s kitsch meets hipster art…I don’t know. But it’s cute. And the food is good. The cocktails aren’t exactly dirt cheap–they’re $9 each. But on Saturdays and Sundays there’s brunch, and for $10 each it’s not a bad deal, not at all…It’s another place where you can hang out to read or write and no one will bother you (that’s something I place a high premium on)
