I closed my umbrella, taking cover from the nasty weather and entered Buccellati Boutique on 57th street only to be rained on…by diamonds. Buckets of them. No, this isn’t Elizabeth Taylor’s Estate Sale (too soon?) but it sure seemed like I was walking into her life sized jewelry box. Not many choices here, only about five display cases, but it doesn’t matter because most won’t even be able to afford to purchase a pen ($15,000 for a gorgeous gold, vintage fountain pen). In the same case were some more vintage goodies – gold Zippo lighters ($1,000 each), various animal pins, a gold jewelry box and a draping silver floral necklace.

On to the watch case. Diamonds stacked upon diamonds decorate these brightly colored wrist watches, ranging in price from $15,000 to a jaw dropping $300,000 for the yellow diamonds. Bling. Bling.

On your way out don’t forget to wave goodbye to my favorite piece – a heavenly gold linked vintage bracelet with a matching necklace. Anyone want to lend me $100,000? I also gladly accept donations.
