Bruno Magli Samples Sale

As I transition from college kid to career woman, I find myself without adequate office-appropriate shoes. I have an abundance of purple suede stilettos, lime green flats with spike & chains, and metallic Nikes. What I lack are classic black pumps, loafers, and ballet flats. I was looking forward to the Bruno Magli sample sale because they specialize in the classic shoe. They are well-made and timeless. On the shoe front, the sample sale did not disappoint. There were six tables of shoes separated into assumed categories: sandals, loafers, flats, boots, pumps and heels. The shoes were not dismal either, as is the case with many designer sample sales. They were those shoes prominently showcased on Maglis’s website, and many shoes selling on zappos.com for close to double the prices.  I did not see a shoe over $200. I purchased the Levice boots which were an affordable $110.

The bag section of the sample sale was a little more disappointing. There were 5 bags, literally. They sat on a folding table in the corner of the sale. They were probably the most unattractive bags to ever come out of Bruno Magli. The atmosphere at the sale was also kind of strange. There were eight people working the sale, and I was the only person there. I know it is a recession, but still, these are great deals. Also, there was a mandatory coat check. I was even asked to check my purse and was only allowed to bring my wallet into the sale area. I’ve never experienced that before. Am I just out of the loop? I thought this was a little unnecessary. In O.J. Simpson’s famous murder trial he called Magli’s shoes “ugly ass” shoes. I have to disagree; I thought the shoes were tasteful and lovely. On a scale from 1-10, I would give this sale an 8. I think it’s worth checking out.
