Blue, Brown, and Lovely All Over

Blues and browns – they go great together. You can build a very formal room with those colors – but, depending on the objects and the shades, it can also be more fashiony. In the room I created below, I went for an almost romantic feel at first, using the powder blue couch. I put in a delicate lacey mirror, and white coral from the ocean. To balance this I used a sturdy brown table, an ornate mirror, and a strong wall decoration. I found a great vivid blue chandelier that I added to give the room POP.

Chandeliers are actually trendy now, as in, they’re not just for dinning rooms or bedrooms in mansions. On the cheaper end of the spectrum, you can find chandelier prints as wall poster or on pillows (like at Urban Outfitters). But you can go to Anthropologie for actual chandeliers. Having a gorgeous chandelier in your bedroom or sitting area is a great way to update an area. It really affects the mood of the room. I never even realized before how much I hate what’s currently in my room as a main light fixture. I never gave it any thought at all – but now the possibilities are opening up as to what I could use.

Much love,

Sofia
