Black, White, and Hot All over...
, New York, NY
In a world of Day-Glo this and irridescent that, sometimes its best just to go minimalist black and white. Just as old, black and white photos of 1920s Paris make you swoon, black and white clothes and accessories make you look stunning, sexy, sweet–whatever you want. Black and white is simple, yet incredibly versatile. (I’m playing with the idea of having a black and white color palatte for the wedding, but that might not go over too well with the family…)
But for engagement photos and the honeymoon and anything else in between, there are plenty of options. Carmen Marc Valvo makes a lovely silk jersey dress with a black halterneck and white skirt, which is great for cocktail parties. Also by Carmen Marc Valvo is a shantung halter dress, white with black polka dots, for that nice, retro look. For a sweeter look, I like the eyelet dress (trends two-for-one!) by BCBG Max Azria, or the Eliza J. Spaghetti strap Contrast Stitch dress. Lastly, for a sporty look, St. John Sport makes a couple of different options. One is a black rib dress with a contrasting white stripe highlighting the waist. THe other is a knit v-neck, half black, half white, with a belted waist for a dramatic fierce look. I like the BCBG and Eliza J looks best, because chances are they’ll come back in style after this wave has passed.
Besitos,
Graciela
