Barbie's Dream House

Life imitates art next month when designer Jonathan Adler takes Barbie’s Dream House off its plastic foundation and sets it on solid ground. Having kicked off the Barbie’s 50th birthday celebration last week when dolls of years past strutted down the catwalk, Adler continues the festivities by turning a Malibu beach house into a real life Dream House. The beachside bash set for March 9th will have him outfitting a bedroom, living room, and closet with shades of bubblegum pink and bolts of hot pink fabric, natch. And to go with the rehabbed dream house, the New York-based designer is launching his fall “Jonathan Adler Loves Barbie” collection filled with pottery, pillows, decorative objects, and even collectable dolls. Only question remains, when does Ken get his bachelor pad?
