Wanna Know Why Hairspray is No Longer an Enemy of Mine?

I’ve all but given up hairspray because my past has lead me to have an aversion to it. I bet some of you know what I’m talking about. My phobia of hairspray goes back to being a young girl.

Back then I’d have a cheapo bottle from the drugstore and it would harden my hair while also depositing a sticky residue on my forehead, arms – everywhere! Can you be surprised that I’ve steered clear of the stuff? But, I have to be realistic….

Hairspray is, simply, a great tool for hair. It’s just a fact! Still, I thought my friends and I had a bond not to wear the stuff. So it was with great surprise that when I asked Sara why her hair was looking so good yesterday, she said she’d used hairspray! I literally gasped. (Dramatic, yes.) I wanted to yell ‘betrayer!’ But, that would be a bit much, so I didn’t. Instead I glared. And I touched her hair. It felt natural – like actual hair. There was no hard helmet of goo covering her strands. So later on I sidled up to her and asked her to give me the goods.

Apparently, there are lots of hairsprays out there these days that do what they’re supposed to do and don’t have those evil side effects. Maybe it’s time to give hairspray a try, once again?
