NYC Women Blend Their Summer Style Into Autumn Warmth

“What am I going to do with all of these beautiful maxi dresses once it starts getting colder? I don’t want to put them away.” That’s what Elizabeth recently said (well, pouted about) to me recently.

“You could hang them up over your windows like Betsey Johnson did with slips?” I had suggested. But Elizabeth wasn’t keen on that. Which, okay. So, is there another solution? Well, totally.

Pair that dress with flats, a funky belt, and a cardigan! You can wear that into fall. Presto, chango – my, you are savvy, aren’t you! This doesn’t just apply to maxi dresses. If you have any dress that was for summer but you’d like to get a little more longevity out of, cardigans are the way to go. I happen to love cardigans and I would be happy to live in them (in the fall/winter months, at least).cardigans.jpg

At first, you won’t want long-sleeves. You’ll want shorter ones. The Banana Republic Belted Cardigan is polished-looking at the nice price of $79.00. Macys has a Boho Calvin Klein Jeans Cropped Open-Knit Cardigan Sweater for $89.50. But eventually you’ll need longer sleeves…

You can’t go wrong with a classic Cashmere V-neck cardigan from J-Crew ($158.00), and they have it in a million colors! Nontraditional style (for a cardigan) comes from the DKNY Women’s 3/4 Sleeve Cardigan ($145.00) at Bloomingdales.

Much love,

Sofia
